I've been thinking a lot this summer about what I am going to wear to my studio classes at art school. I need some practicality. most likely some dark pants and simple jersey gray shirts that are easy to throw in the wash because well.. I will be covered in charcoal. As for shoes, I better start a collection of oxfords

I love summer because all the days blur into one. I made this skirt out of an old american flag I found in our barn when I was last at the farm. It's one of my favorite pieces in my closet right now because it reminds me of my dad. He has this weird thing about having the american flag up all the time. He probably wouldn't be happy if he knew I made a skirt out of one...

My summer thus far. I've been sewing quite a bit and experimenting. I miss blogging though. I update my tumblr frequently and hopefully my blog will be getting the same amount of attention. :)

May 31st

It's summer! And I am finally back to blogging. I feel so bad for not posting in months! I was very very busy graduating from high school! I am ready for this summer to begin and draw and create everyday! I love having this time to experiment and read lots of books, eat good food and sew! I leave the first week of September for college. This is from a picture I found on FaceHunter. I loved the red hat.

3rd rock from the sun

I have been in a weird mood lately. I guess I am just adjusting to not thinking about my portfolio. That portfolio has been all I think about for the past 3 years. Now that I am not thinking about it, I need new goals and things to reach for. I watched The Devil Wears Prada and filled my journal with the stack of cut-outs and random findings that have piled up in the corner of my room. It was therapeutic. I went for a run and bought some yummy smoothies at the grocery store. I haven't been drawing much. I think I needed a break from it. I only have a couple months left of high school and I want to spend it hanging out with friends, keeping my room clean, running and feeling good. I want spring break. I am thinking about opening an Etsy shop for my drawings. I don't know how to go about making prints so I will probably start out just selling the originals. This is a drawing I did awhile ago. Tell me what you think!

monday monday valentines

I have been in a weird mood lately. I feel like I am in a some kind of in-between but who knows. Tomorrow may be the day I figure it all out. I'll post a picture of my dress in a little bit. It is very simple so don't get your hopes up. Here's a couple drawings from my boredom in class last year :)

Strawberry tart

Thank you to all my new followers! It really means a lot to me! I sent my final portfolios in this past Friday. I celebrated with a strawberry tart. My favorite!

Now that my portfolio is finished I have really gotten into my sewing projects. I am very excited to share them! Hopefully by this weekend, I will have something to post. More drawings to come as well!

Trouble oh trouble set me free

I have been very busy. I have been working on lots of different projects that I cannot wait to share! I drew this a couple days ago. Its a backstage photo of Ginta Lapina at Carolina Herrera Spring 2010. I loved the way they put beads in the hair. I think it is so beautiful. I would love to wrap up my hair in a bun with strands of silver beads throughout.
